Works in ink

I have always been greatly inspired by traditional Chinese ink paintings and calligraphy which often convey an intensity and emotional precision that I admire. Since I tried working with ink I was completely captured by it. Unlike in oil painting, it is not possible to make changes, which gives it a more immediate and genuine feeling for the viewer. Furthermore, the sharp contrast between the white paper and the dark ink along with the very fine lines opens up different opportunities than an oil painting. This allows me to work with different emotions than I do when painting with oils.
